Several years ago, my wife and I stopped in at a local Denny's for a late nite bite. The were only a few couples in the place at the time so we figured we could get in and get out. We were so wrong. It took at least 30 minutes to get someone to take our order. While we ordering we over heard other couples complaining that they wanted their check so they could leave. We finally got our food except for the milk and apple pie I had ordered. I eventually got the waitress to get my items. she was gone about 10 minutes when she returned she could not remember which table had ordered the items. Finally in exasperation one patron yelled to her that I was the one who oredered the food.
Then the real fun began. Keep in mind that at no time did a manager appear. it was time to leave and we could not find the waitress to pay. long story short, several people actually left without paying because no one would come take their money. I actually went into the kitchen and dragged our waitress out so we could pay and leave.
Needless to say we never went back and we warned all of friends about going there.

Revlon company in N Jersey I bought 4 moisturizers before I moved to California.When I arrived in California and I opened one of the boxes.I discovered it was dried up. I decided to check the rest of the boxes and they were all dried up as well. I called the store in New Jersey where I bought them explained the situation the lady on the phone was rude and refused to give me her name then told me the only way I would get a refund was to go to the store; I explained I had moved to California there was no way; she told me it was tough luck for me then told me it was my fault and stupid not to have had opened them before moving to California. I asked to speak to her supervisor she told me she was the supervisor so I asked her for her n ame she answered " why do you want my name?" then hanged up on me.

I represent the minority and the foreigners ..I have an accent and most times people dont know if Iam latino or other nationality. Companies are awared that we represent a growing group as a race and as spenders in their products. Many times Iam faced with unethical and unskilled workers who dont treat me with respect. Sometimes if I am dressed just in my jogging pants I am treated differently than when I dressed professionally it shouldnt be that way; a customer is a customer and no one has any idea how much money I have in my wallet. One bad service and I spend my money someplace else. I work as a Customer Service Rp for a cable company in New York you will be surprised how it was the minorities who spend the most in cable ..they added the most channels but when they called I treated everyone equally and with respect. Blacks latinos chinese whatever the race we all use the same color ..green! for money. I think mystery shoppers is a great way to teach employees the importance of the customer..more customers more money ..more security in their jobs. the last thing I would say is that I as a customer sometimes just go in a store with no intention of buying anything but the person working there was nice and offering me so much help that I came out with hundreds of dollars worth of things I didnt need !!

When I was a bank teller a very upset client came in very upset about their account I was able to help with their needs and offer them other that they than accepted.I think that that was one of the best customer service experiences. Later that day was my worst customer experience when a non customer who wanted to cash a check with out having enough or proper identification had a huge fit including cursing and yelling.

The worst customer service I recevied was at a resturant, after we were sitted for fifteen minutes the waitress came over and asked us what we wanted to drink when she came back she took our order and was then gone for forty five minutes, as my party and I noticed she was busy talking to another waitress and sitting behind the bar when we asked her if she could refill our drinks because we ahd been waiting for sometime she got upset and told us she was very busy and would when she had the chance. When we got our food it was cold and when we told the Maneger of our poor service he just said they were busy and that we shouldn't come on such busy nights if we didn't like the service.

Just recently I went to a store, and I walked up to the counter to purchase some ribbon. I handed the clerk the spool and she looked at me and said, you can't buy this. I looked at her and said why?? She said, because it is sold by the yard, not the spool. I looked at her and I said, thank you for letting me know, I would still like to purchase the entire spool. The Clerk then got very aggitated, pulled out a yard stick and began measuring the ribbon. As she measured, she did not re-roll the ribbon back on the spool, i had to do it myself. The entire time she was measuring she kept huffin and puffin as if I was a nusance. I paid for my ribbon and I let very aggitated myself at the terrible customer service I received.

Recently I visitied Einstein's Bagels. I ordered two bagels, two soups, a cookie and a soda. At the checkout, I had to remind the clerk to get the soup and a cup for the soda. He then pushed all the items towards me, not bagging or even offering a bag. When I asked about a bag, he huffed as if that was an inconveneince and then gave me a bag. He stood behind the register as I bagged my own items, holding up the line of customers behind me. I didn't see a manager around so I left and later wrote a complaint to the company.

Best/Worst Customer Service
I just recently had a shop that I have done many times, but this time was unique because of Customer Service Representive(CSR) and her multi-tasking abilities. I went into a check cashing facility. The line was already 4 people long, While standing there 6 more customers walk-in and there is only one CSR, but there were 3 windows. She greeted and started people at every window. By the time I got to the window she was calling another employee in early and maintaining her quick pace. She asked me to be sitted and started processing my paper work, while continuing to help the other customers. She never lost her positive attitude or focus. I felt as though she always exhibited an urgency with me and the other customers. Even though my transaction took some extra time, She impressed me with her abilities to manage her situation. It was wonderful to watch a CSR who was happy and competent with there position.

The worst customer service experience I ever had was at a major department store on the first day of there big sale. The store was overcrowed and understaffed. The lines to check out were a mile long, and there were not enough cashiers so available registers were not being used. The clothing displays were in complete disary and the racks were unorganized. I left the store not buying anything frustrated with having to look for my size in a pile on the floor and discouraged by the size of the line. As I left the store I passed by other levels which were not crowded (bedding, housewares),I became very annoyed. The extra employees from other departments should have helped out in the Womens department or at the very least someone should have let customers know that they could purchase there items in any department.

I have spent alot of time traveling all over the world and I believe the qualities that make a good tourist also make a good Mystery Shopper. When you are traveling in a foriegn country you must always be aware of your surrounds. When exploring a city I would make note of all the land marks and any other spots I found interesting so that I did not get lost and also did not miss anything of interest. I also would familarize myself with the local customs in the hopes that I did not offend anyone. Most importantly I would try to blend in as much as possible so that I would not stand out. Anonymity is one of the most important characteristics of a Mystery shopper and I feel through my travels I have gained much experience in this skill. I also have learned to be very observant without apearing to be so, and lastly, I do my research so that I am well informed on what to expect at any place I visit.

It is those times when a sales person may not know the answer to my question, but takes the effort to find the answer. My worst customer service experience is also not centered around a specific time or place, it is the time when I am at a restaurant and all the servers are too busy to serve me... or at a store and all the clerks are too busy being bored that they won't take the time to say hello.

My worst customer service experience occurred about 2 years ago at a fast food restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was late in the evening and there was only one other customer. There were 2 cashiers, and they were having a discussion when I approached the register. Neither of them acknowledged my presence and instead resumed their conversation as if I was not standing there. After about 1 minute, I asked them if one of them would take my order. One cashier looked at me, rolled her eyes and proceeded to approach the register to enter my order. As I gave my order, she did not make eye contact with me or smile. As a matter of fact, her non-verbal expressions left me with the impression that she was extremely annoyed that I had interrupted her conversation with her co-worker. It was such a bad experience that I chose not to complete the transaction. Instead, I completed a comment card and went to another restaurant down the street.

At my first job, working for Hollywood Video in Palm Springs, I was often allowed to run the store while the Store Manager (Jeremy Drake) would go to the bank or out to lunch. One time, he had a personal emergency during his lunch break and I was left alone for two hours on a busy summer day. Every single computer broke down in the store - whether it was because the printer got jammed, or the program running on the computer froze - I had to keep moving from each computer (a total of 6) while keeping myself calm and friendly. I dealt with each customer calmly, even though I was under an enormous amount of stress, and the line was continual. Eventually my manager returned and commended me for an excellent job in customer service.

Recently, I went to Mammoth for a snowboarding vacation. After a long day of boarding, my friends and I stopped at the local grocery store to buy some supplies we forgot to bring with us. Though it was a small market, there were three cashiers working. My friend, who was ahead of me in line, bought a water. He had no cash and had to use his atm card for the purchase. The cashier was obviously peeved that he was using his card for such a small purchase. When it was my turn to pay for my groceries, I noticed that the same cashier was not friendly at all; in fact, she was a little rude. I said "thank you" as I walked near the next register to wait for another of my friends who was buying some batteries. I was appauled to see that as this other cashier was ringing up my friend, she was carrying on a personal conversation the entire time. She never stopped her conversation or said a word to any of us. I left before my friend finished because I was so annoyed by the experience.

The worst customer service experience I have experienced thus far occurred last summer when I contacted my cell phone company to inquire about charges on my bill. I spoke with a customer service agent who was very rude and short with me. We kept going around and around because my plan included free long distance. I was right. However, instead of asking for assistance or being thorough, she preceded to get angrier. She eventually began to swear. It was the most unprofessional situation I have ever been involved in. I asked to speak with a manager and he took care of the charges and gave credited my account because of that experience. Being in customer service myself I know how stressful it can be at times, but there is NEVER an excuse to be unprofessional.

I have expierienced a lot of good customer service but recently had a bad expierience which sticks out among the others. I was at a local department store trying to get some help with purchasing a new television set. There was nobody around to help. I asked a passing by associate for some help and they were rude and said 'it's not my department'. Finally I walked to the front of the store and asked customer service for someone to help me. They were friendly and agreed to help. They paged someone to the electronics. I walked back there to continue to wait another 10 minutes without help. I asked another passing associate who said that the person in this department was out to lunch. I asked well I just need some help and she said 'Sorry I don't know anything about this department. After 35 minutes without recieving any kind of help, I left the store very dissatisfied.

We walked into Ariba Baja Cantina in Huntington Beach ready to have a nice meal. The hostess at the front was very nice and curtious first asking us how we were, how many of us there were and then where we wanted to sit. We got to our table thanked the hostess and then waited for the waiter to come. We waited a good 30 minutes before he came and we finally got to order our drinks and then get chips to snack on while waiting for our food. We had plenty of time to wait for him so we already knew what we wanted to eat and we ordered that too. The waiter was curtious but was not very attentive to the tables needs. Glasses were often left empty and took a while to refill as well as the to baskets of chips and the salsa that we had. Our food took a little longer that usual and when it came we found that one of our parties meal was not even put into the computer and made, and anothers was not what he ordered. So we got the wrong order changed and the other one made so that we could all eat. Once we were finished the bill came and still the waiter was nice and curtious but the bill was wrong. We were overcharged by three chicken tacos and two steak tacos. I went to discuss the discrepancy and the waiter told me that he had entered everything correctly and the bill wasnt wrong. We talked for a couple minutes and he got the managers approval to change it to the correct total. The night started off good with the hostess but as soon as we left her care it seemed to go downhill. The food was good but the waiter's service was terrible and needs to be fixed.

First I worked in retail for two and a half years and know the ropes of large chain companies such as Target and Wal Mart and such. I regularly go to restaurants ( 3-4 ) times a week and have experienced many diffrenet kinds of service and I know how to act normal when you are "undercover" so to speak. My worst seems to come to mind first, it was the most humilating moment in my life! Being in the restaurant business, I've not only bartended, but waitressed as well. One day while serving a table of 8 business men, they began their orders with refreshments. Each one of them wanted a glass of water and another beverage, as well. Making 16 drinks for this one table. Being the experienced waitressed that I am, that wasn't such a difficult thing to accomplish. So I brought their order of drinks to the table, and without even a second though as to the balance of my tray that carried these 16 beverages, I promptly picked up the wrong glass and 15 beverages commenced to pouing over, only, one of the business men, to my absolute horror!!! The man, men, were very forgiving of my error in judgement, and left me very nice tip anyways!

Best/Worst Customer Service
I recently had an unpleasant experience with United Airlines when I was trying to change my itinerary. The woman on the phone was misunderstanding everything I said and instead of trying to resolve the situation she put me on hold for ten minutes. I hung up and tried again with a different representative. He was very helpful and changed my flight within two minutes. I let him know how thankful I was to talk with someone who was much more pleasant then the original representative I had.

Best/Worst Customer Service
Worst customer service experience - At Shellworth Chevrolet in Vacaville. I went in to get service on my vehicle and they were so rude to me and made me wait for an unusual amount of time. I went home very upset. Best customer service experience - Grocery shopping at Albertson's on East Monte Vista, they are always so nice there. I almost always leave with a smile on my face.

I like to be treated well and not have to wait a very long time. I love to shop and do not mind shopping for hours. I do not even mind not buying anything at all, I just love to browse. I have two daughters and a son, they also love to shop with me. I do not work out of the home and I am available almost anytime of the day. My children are in school all day so it gives me lots of free time.

My worst customer service experience was when I was waiting to be seated at a restaurant. I had been waiting a long while, due to the high volume of customers. Then when we were finally next the hostess' friend walked in and was seated next.

I was employeed at a shoe store while in college. A customer came in one day and I could not fit her with a shoe that was comfortable enough for her. I tried every shoe that we had in stock on her and spent hours helping her. She finally wanted to give up and thought it was hopeless to find a shoe that fit her comfortably. I asked her to wait asked her if she was willing to factory order a shoe that I just knew would fit her difficult feet. She did and it fit her perfectly and comfortably. She orderd the shoe in every color and wrote a thank you letter to the company letting them know she had received fantastic customer service. This was my best experience because it showed me how important and profitable it is to give your customer the best customer service you can at all times. It also reminded me to never give up!
