My worst ever was standing in a retail store waiting for clerk to help as many employees walk and keep saying just a minute and finally left after standing there for 10 minutes with no help.

My worst customer experience was when I was at a store called Dots.  I must have had at leat 10 outfits in my hand and at not time did anyone ask if I needed help.  When I went to the dressing room, I had to wait for about 3mins before anyone would come to let me in.  Once in, no one came to see if I needed help again.  When I went to check out, I waited couple of minutes for someone to come.  I saw the salesperson letting people into the dressing room, just standing around.  She looked at me a couple of times, but did not try to get anyone or come to help me herself.  I was in a hurry, of course and it was very discouraging.

Candidates qualities:

I have been know to be very picky when it comes to customer service.  I pay very close attention to detail, and I notice when someone is not being curtious to me.  My degree is in Organizational Leadership and Supervision and we were taught that a business thrives because of the people running it.  We also learned that the employees have to be motivated in order for the company to succeed.  I believe in that, which is why I think I would be a great mystery shopper.

I went into a large department store that was having a big sale that day.  I was greeted at end door by an employee, who asked if they could assist me, so I let them.  They led me straight to the item I was needing to purchase and since that was the only item I was purchasing, they opened a register so I didn't have to stand in the long check out lines.

I have very good computer skills with Microsoft Word.  I have a good eye for detail.  I have currently been doing mystery shopping jobs at restaurants, retail stores, and entertainment shops.

Probably being charged twice on priceline.  I had already paid for the motel with priceline and the motel charged me again which caused my bank account to overdraft while I was on vacation.  This left me with no money.  The management did work with me after emailing them.  I was a little dissapointed because this has happened to me several times using priceline and it always was the same brand of motel that ran into this problem.  I felt that by letting both priceline and the motel know about this problem I may have prevented this from happening to someone else in the future.

I look for the positives as well as things that may need improvement.  You will find that I am a very detailed person who pays attention to even the smallest things that normally most people do not see.  I am very good about taking notes and documenting all events.

My worst customer service experience:

I was once in a supermarket in which the stock on the shelf was disorganized and dirty. Food product was outdated. The checkout lanes were long and slow-moving. Although there appeared to be adequate employee help available, no additional checkout lanes were opened to handle the traffic flow. The checkout clerk I went to did not greet any of the customers. In fact, she did not even look up at the customers, nor speak while scanning the purchase. She didn't even say anything at the end of the scanning about the total amount due. I had to determine it for myself by looking at the register. Upon leaving, I received no "Thank You" (or any other words)!

I am a dedicated "coupon shopper." I review three different newspapers on a daily basis for sales ads and coupons. I shop several times a week, and almost always on weekends. I frequent certains stores regularly because of the way I am treated as a valued customer by the employees. I like filling out store comment cards when I feel I have been treated well and not-so-well. I will go out of my way to inform store management of a situation when I feel it is warranted. I believe shopping should be enjoyable and a store's environment should contribute to that feeling. I am a very organized person. I am a very tidy person. I am also observant.

My worst customer experience would have been in a retail shopping center.  I was ignored, in my view because the
cashier clothing attendant did not think I was shopping, just browsing.  She lost a sale because of her lack of concern in helping me to find a pair of shoes I was interested in purchasing. 
I have found it to be true if you are not "dressed" a certain way you are treated much differntly than if you were to be had you taken the time to put on attire that the attedant finds to be appropriate to gain their employee percentage.

My best customer service experience has been at Wal-mart.  I had to return a couple of things that I had gotten double of at my baby shower.  The service was fast and they made it very easy to return, even though I did not have my receipt.

My worst customer service was at Babies R Us.  I had a coupon for diaper rash cream that I wanted to use, but the cashier had already pressed the total button (I hadn't paid yet, she just totaled it).  She told me that it was too late to use the coupon and that I would have to go to the customer service desk to get the $1.00 back.  There was 4 or 5 people already in the line and 2 girls working the desk.  I went and got in line and waited 5-10 minutes and they had only helped 1 person in front of me, so I finally just left.

Candidates qualities:

I believe I would be a good mystery shopper because I have experience working in restaurants, grocery stores, and retail stores.  I know how a customer should be treated.  If service is bad and the person working there knows it is bad, they need to at least apologize for the bad service.  I have come across people that I worked with and ones that have waited on me, that didn't have this common courtesy.  I could help companies try to pinpoint problems with their customer service to help them provide a better service.

I went to a local fast food restaurant and the girl took my order, gave me my change, and proceeded to make my food. She never washed her hands.  I kindly asked her to make me a new one and she told her manager.  Her manager didn't see a problem with this improper handeling of food and money. She in turn asked the girl to wash her hands and started to make my food herself. She also never washed her hands, and she touched my food with her dirty hands. Needless to say, I haven't eaten there since, and I don't plan to. Yuck!

My best customer service experience happened when I was employed at a local credit union.  I was able to help one of our members with a problem he was having with his account.  He later mailed a letter to the CEO of the company telling him what a great help I had been.  It was nice to receive that letter and I think it was even a bigger honor for me because it wasn't an evaluation by my supervisor.  I kept that letter to keep in my portfolio and from time to time I look at it and think that job wasn't that bad and I was good at it.

My best experiences were being able to write successful letters to financial institutions on behalf of employees who were having difficulties getting loans approved for their first homes.

My worst experience was when an ex wife of an enployee called, wanting to know his salary so that she could get financial assistance. The information had to be given by the employee so I could not help her. She got really mad and said I should fire him. He probably should have been but I had no authority like that.

My best would have to be at Wal-Mart when I was 8 months pregnant with my son and checking out. I dropped all my change on the floor. The cashier stopped what she was doing and came around to help me. I have not had good service at Wal-Mart in the past and went there b/c it was on the way home. I was very pleased to see her help. When I was at the same Wal-Mart a few weeks before, I was told when asking for help that "I do not have time to help you, I have things I have to do." When I got the manager I was told that "sorry about that, but it's not a big deal.." I am all about customer service and I feel the customer comes first.

I know I would be a good shopper because, I feel customer service is very important. I worked at Martin's Supermarket in my teens and they taught me that the customers are first. Ever since then I apply what Martin's taught me to everywhere I go. I believe that ALL places need to put the customer needs and service before there own. When I say there own I mean, I don't like to be checking out somewhere and employee is talking to a friend or another employee about the weekend. I believe lately a lot of places are not doing as well in customer service as they should. There have been a few times when I have noticed this and pointed it out to the managers or employees. An example of this would be I know how groceries are supposed to be bagged and when they aren't I simply ask the curtsey clerk to fit it. I know I would be a good candidate for a mystery shopper because I am a customer and I know how I like to be treated as a customer.

My best ever experience was at Things Remembered at the mall. I ordered a personalized baby quilt, and several days later it was on back order. The sales rep ordered the next best quilt for me and charged me the exact same price as the lessor quilt. I never even complained or got mad, but she took care of me anyway. I ended up with a much nicer quilt than I had originally ordered.

I previously worked in retail and was a store manager for Express (Limited Corporation). I have had many customer service experiences on both sides. Since I know what it is like to be a manager of a store, I expect good customer service from every store I shop. I am usually very understanding, but when an employee has a bad attitude with customers, I find that to be unacceptable. Just recently I had a return with my receipt at a store and was going to buy something else. The manager was rude to me as I could tell she did not want to have to do the return and gave me the cold shoulder while I was in the store. I decided to just return the items and not purchase anything- I was not receiving any help and did not want to encourage her behavior by purchasing from her store.

Since I have a background in retail management, I have high expectations of customer service when I shop in a store. I know what to look for (when you come in you should be greeted, friendly smiles, offered assistance, told of current sales and specials, etc). Worst: I went to a restaurant for a 5th anniversary dinner w/my boyfriend. They waited 20 minutes to wait on us even though we had a reservation and then brought the appetizer and dinner as quick as she could drop one off, return to the kitchen and return with the dinner entrees. After we complained about the poor service, the poor quality of the food that had been served to us and our unatentive waitress (she was busy speaking with and entertaining a group of regulars), another employee (a family member, as this was a family owned resturant)came up to our table and told us that we should not let that reflect in the tip that we gave the waitress. She was the biggest part of the problem! We left a dollar on the table and he ran back up, picked it up from the table and threw it at us and said it was not wanted or appriciated. We complained to the owner, left the establishment and never returned again.

My worst experience was at K-Mart the store was dirty and the isles where loaded with merchandise. You could barely walk down the isles with a cart. I asked assistance to locate an item and I got told to ask someone in that department. I went back to the department and there was no one in the area. I went and asked someone else. That employee said I think it's near and gave me another item but couldn't say what isle. I was so frustrated with the condition of the store and the service I went and got a rain check so I could purchase it later at a diffrent location pr even take it to Wal-Mart and purchase for the sale price they had it for.

My worst customer service experience was at a local fast food resaurant. I ordered a giant roast beef sandwich meal and when I got home, there were only two small slices of roast beef on the sandwich. When I called the restaurant, the associate told me that it should have 4 oz of meat on it. When I told him it didn't, he advised me I could bring it back. I told him I lived out in the country and he just said ok. He didn't offer to make the meal good, I had to suggest that he either reimburse me or give me a credit for another meal. he told me I would have to call back tomorrow when a manager was present.

My worst experience would have been at a restaurant that after having been seated, the server did not acknowledge our presence for over 15 minutes even though she walked by several times. I had stopped another server in the area and they said they would get our server to assist us. After about 10 more minutes, or server finally arrived chewing gum like a cow chewing cud, and truely seemed annoyed at our presence in "her" zone of the restaurant. We ordered drinks and appetizers. About 10 minutes later, our drinks arrived - one of which was the wrong drink ordered, as did our appetizer sampler - cold. We tried to send it back to no avail since we were unable to get the attention of our server again. To make a long story short, we did ask to speak with the manager at the restaurant who indicated that they were and have had problems with this particular server and that she would likely not be asked to return to work after her shift ended. The manager offered to pay for our dinner which we graciously accepted due to the poor service that we had received. Especially when he found out that people that had arrived after we did, sat down, were served and had paid and left all before we were served our entree.

Best: McDonalds: I was pregnant with twins and going through the drive thru every morning. "Gerri" had asked me when I was due one morning while I was waiting for my food. Every time I saw her after that she always remembered me and when I was due. She also made toys for both my boys which I kept for them in their memory box. Worst: Sears Portrait Studio: "Denise" was taking pictures for us and she and her husband were fighting. He called her three times and she continued to fight with him in front of me and my children. She was very short and frustrated with us and it made our very first pictures of my sons a very unpleasant experience.

MY BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE WAS ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN AND I NEEDED A NEW WIPER BLADE FOR MY CAR. I WENT TO THE NEAREST AUTOZONE AND THEY HELPED ME PICK THE CORRECT MODEL FOR MY CAR. WHILE I WAS PAYING FOR THE ITEM AT THE CASH REGISTER, THE CLERK THAT ASSISTED ME WENT OUT INTO THE POURING RAIN AND REPLACED THE BLADE FOR ME AND DISPOSED OF THE TRASH. MY WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE WAS ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO AT A MCDONALDS DRIVE THRU. I ORDERED A VALUE MEAL, NUMBER TEN. WHEN I PULLED AROUND FOR MY TOTAL, SHE QUOTED ME A PRICE OF ABOUT $2 MORE THAN A NUMBER TEN COSTS AND I ASKED HER WHY THE PRICE WAS DIFFERENT. SHE SAID THAT I ORDERED A NUMBER ONE. I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I HAD ORDERED A NUMBER TEN AND NOT A NUMBER ONE. THE CASHIER TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO LEARN HOW TO ORDER BECAUSE I WAS WRONG AND SHE WAS NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE ORDER.

Best/Worst Customer Service

I entered the restaurant at 6:35. No one was at the hostess station or behind the counter. We waited about three minutes, and assumed we should seat ourselves. We took a booth in the next dining area and waited for the wait staff to appear. After 20 minutes finally William came to our table to take our order. He did not ask how long we had waited nor apologize. He looked unkempt with wrinkled clothing, visibly soiled shoes, and uncombed hair. He did not write our order down and had to come back and ask us about the side dishes we choose. The meal came 26 minutes from the time we ordered which seemed very slow especially as I could see no other customers. The chicken, soups, and salads were tasty but the soups and salads were not brought out before the entree. The steaks were pink inside, but we had ordered them well done. The potatoes had an odd taste as though possibly reheated and the soups needed to be just a little warmer. The salad dressing was placed over both salads although we requested they be on the side. The room temperature was slightly cold and some background music notably missing. William was friendly but had added three colas instead of two on our bill. The dining room was clean, but the restrooms needed some attention. There was water on the floors both times I entered as well as several pieces of tissues as well as streaked mirrors. The parking lot was spacious and clean, but there was essentially no lighting except right by the front doors making it hard to locate the exact exit. I would possibly give this restaurant another chance to see if something had went seriously wrong that night, such as a manager quitting without notice, but I could not recommend it to others until I went again.

A group of friends all went out to eat at a med level exp. The waitress was at least trying to do her job well but, the mgr. on duty was lazy and angry because he had to work. On of the people in our party had ordered a steak cooked med. rare. The mgr. was cooking. He brought the med. rare steak to the table. The inside of the steak was not only raw but frozen. We requested his presents at the table when the problem was brought to his attention his responce was "So dont eat it then." "Take it home and cook it however you want it. We were all very upset by his actions and called the corp. office needless to say we all ate our next meal there free and he was soon unemployeed.
