I've never really had a really bad customer sevice experience, but i have had just bad ones, none that really stand out.  Just the usual, no workers talk to you, no eye contact, no one asks if they can help you look for something, bad attitudes, etc.

Because i love to shop.  I can tell when a clerk at a store isn't doing they're job the right way.  I know that you are supposed to be greated at the door, asked if you need help, ask how your doing, etc.

I had stayed at a microtel Hotel that we were staying and I went to get into my bed, I found that the Bed had not been changed it was disgusting, Glitter, hair, ect.  I called the front desk, they moved us to a new room,
which we had to move ourselves in our P.J. and it was on the 4 floor.  I called the manager and wrote microtel,
I received a free night stay, what really upset me is that the girl at the front desk when I told her she was to busy to talk to me, she was more interested in talking to her boyfriend on the phone.  Well ,I never stayed at that motel again

MY WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER WAS WITH DELL FINANCIAL.  THEY INSISTED THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS IN MY ACCOUNT FOR MY CHECK AND I KNOW I DID.  THE NEXT REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SPOKE TO SAID I NEVER PAID AND THEY CHARGED ME A LATE FEE AND I MY INVOICE IT SAID MY PAYMENT WAS REVERSED (I thought I never paid?).  THE NEXT REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TO CONTACT MY BANK TO TRACE MY CHECK AND MY BANK SAID THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY CHECK, BUT IF YOU RECALL THE FIRST REP SAID THAT I HAD NSF????  THEN DELL SAYS THAT THEY SHRED THE CHECKS AFTER 7 DAYS.  YET ALL THIS HAPPENS AND I DON NOT KNOW ANYTHING UNTIL MY NEXT MONTH'S STATEMENT COMES WITH A NOTE SAYING THAT THEY WERE SENDING MY ACCOUNT INTO COLLECTIONS.  AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE, DELL SENT ME COPIES (front and back)OF THE CHECKS (that they say they never received)!

My worst customer service experience occurred in a major nation-wide home appliance discount store. I entered the store interested in prices for window air conditioner units. I had done some research and had a fairly good idea of what type of unit I wanted. When approached by a salesman on the floor, I responded to his questions with the specific features that I was looking for in an air conditioner. Ignoring my stated interests, the salesman led me to several -- significantly more expensive -- units that did not fit my needs. When I repeated my requirements, he proceeded to inform me that the store only had 2 air conditioners of that size left in stock and would not be recieving more until the following summer. He also claimed that he knew "for a fact" that there were no other similar units in any other store (including those run by other chains) in the entire region. Having just been to two other fully-stocked stores, I knew that there was no such shortage. He explained that I had to buy either the one appropriate unit on the floor or the other unit in the stock room, or else risk having no air conditioning for the summer. He refused to answer any questions about the one model on display and would not help when I attempted to read the machine's specifications for myself by turning the heavy box. Furthermore, he refused to even tell me the brand of the machine in the stock room, let alone any other details. After I insisted, he reluctantly looked up the relevant information. Regardless of what I said, he insisted on aggressively repeating the "threat" that I shouldn't waste time with questions when I was at risk of losing my chance at one of the only two air conditioners remaining in all of southeast Michigan. I calmly informed him I would take my chances and left. He responded that he wished me luck because I was making a big mistake. Furthermore,he suggested that my husband would be angry with me for not listening to good sense and buying one of these air conditioners. I drove across the street to another discount appliance chain, found exactly what I was looking for, and bought it.

I would be an excellent mystery shopper because my appearance is nondescript and my shopping "style" is unremarkable. I am knowledgeable, but polite and considerate when dealing with customer service employees. However, I am also extraordinarily observant and have an excellent memory for details and the specifics of conversations. Through my experiences as a teacher and as a PhD student, I have extensive experience in summarizing key points clearly both in writing and orally.

My experience took place at Rogers and Hollands. I had brought my necklace in to the shop to be repaired. My diamond had come out of it's setting. The women behind the desk accidentally knocked the loose diamond onto the floor. Immediately the manager was called over to lock down the store. He did so without any hesitation. The whole floor was covered in glitter to show the sparkle affect. So this was going to be a difficult task. After the store was locked down, all employees were instructed to get down onto their hands and knees and comb the carpets. After about a half hour of searching, the manager offered to replace my lost diamond for a new one. Since no one had been certain of the size of my diamond, they had given me my choice of diamonds between 1/4 and 1/2 carats. This I felt was very generous. I was very thankful. Are choosing my new diamond, the women getting it out of the case for me glanced down, and there lay the diamond that had been lost. Everyone was happy. It was by far my best experience in customer service.
