Best/Worst Customer Service:
My worst experience was at Verizon Wireless. I went in because my cell phone
just stopped working. When I finally got to talk to a sales person he told me
that we has "unable to say another word to me" because the phone was under my
father's name, even though my name was also on the account. Then I was sent
to the customer service desk and they told me that my phone didn't work
because I didn't have a tune-up done on it during the previous month. My
phone was one month out of warranty and just stopped working. No one ever
told me I would need maintenance done on my cell phone.
Candidates qualities:
I would be a good Mystery Shopper because I tend to blend in very well. I
don't stand out in a crowd. I look like an everyday customer, just your
average college student, and I have experience with Mystery Shoppers. When I
worked at Fazoli's restaurant we had mystery shoppers come in quite often.
They would usually do something to make them selves stand out so I have
learned what not to do from them. I love shopping and go to all types of
businesses and stores. I am also working on an external degree so I have
plenty of free time to work whenever needed.

My worst customer service experience was when I visited a local Walgreens store. The cosmetic employee followed me around the store and monitored everything I did, she kept coming up to me asking if I needed help. She pretended to organize shelves while watching me; it was apparent she thought I was stealing. She approached me and asked for me to place my bag, which I carried throughout the store, on the cosmetic counter as no one was allowed to carry bags in the store. I found this a bit odd; feeling that I was being accused of something I spoke to a manager and they apologized deeply for what the cosmetic clerk did; I guess they had quite a bit of shoplifting going on and since I look younger than I am they thought I was shoplifting. My best experience was when I went into a local retail store and the clerk actually drove to another store to pick up a pair of pants I really wanted.
Retail outlets, restaurants; being that I have five years of retail experience and know what is expected of a good customer service individual I hold standards very high when I visit retail. I have been in customer/client service positions throughout my career and know what is expected. I tend to "test" customer service when I am out on my own, timing the clerk to see how long it will take her to say "Hi" or just some sort of acknowledgement.

While shopping at local shoe store browsing for a pair of sandals, I found myself being followed by the workers. It is true they need to be helpful and ready to assist, but only to an extent. Two workers insisted upon showing me one pair of shoes after another, without listening to my requests to be left alone, as I was simply looking around. Additionally, they ignored my comments when I specifically told them I did not like a certain style. I did decide to purchase a pair of sandals for the summer, but the harrassment comtinued as they tried to convince me to go out to a bar with them that evening. I decided the sandals were not worth the wait, and headed out of the store. Even since, I avoid even walking in front of the store (it is located within a mall) as the salespeople can not understand that at times, they need to give shoppers a little bit of space.
First off, I love to shop! Even when I am short on money, I enjoy looking through merchandise in the mall. Furthermore, I believe I am a detail-oriented person and can provide accurate and complete descriptions of shopping experiences. I have worked as a waitress and a sales representative, and so can understand their positions while evaluating how they treat the customer. I am nearly fluent in the spanish language, which may or may not be relevant. Finally, I am very responsible and trustworthy and willing to go the extra mile to complete an assignment.
